It’s been deathly busy here at work so I haven’t had a chance to update for a while… Maybe I’ll get my life back when Dead Space ships…

I spent most of the day tinkering around with different things.
First, I worked on structuring the lyrics I’ve been writing the past week. It’s finally coming together, I think it’s an okay bunch of words.
I then tried to compose the chorus part on the Tenori-On. I had worked out the main body of the melody earlier [...]

I just found out a free software version on the Tenori-On just got released today.
Exciting stuff. I’ll install and try it out later.

I found a very insightful interview with Toshio Iwai (the creator of the Tenori-On) over at PixelSurgeon.com. He talks about his fascination with music creation and in making it accessible to people who are not musically schooled.
He also talks about his inspirations in creating ElectroPlankton and the Tenori-On.

One of the more active members of the Tenori-On forum, STACKDJ created a really cool site that allows Tenori-On users to upload and share their songs, blocks and samples. This is really cool! I might upload some later this week.

An email newsletter went out today announcing the availability of the Tenori-On.
I guess they are increasing their supply or changing the way they are selling them. It used to be that you had to register at the Keyfax.com site and wait your turn to get one as they were only releasing 70 or so units [...]

I just added a new song. This one is called “e11even”.
It still needs a bit more work but I think it’s pretty cool.

So what is this Tenori thing? Why is this blog called the Tenori-Off Project?
I started this blog because I recently got into creating music with a Tenori-On. And www.tenori-off.com is my attempt at being clever with the domain name.

As much I can probably consider myself an Internet dinosaur; having been around when the web started and when the blink tag ruled cyberspace (I intentionally used the word “cyberspace” for nostalgia)… this site represents a slew of new frontiers for me.
